WELCOME THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS — Plan to stay after church on Nov. 24 to decorate for Christmas.  The first Sunday of Advent is Dec. 1!
Our first midweek Advent Service is Wednesday, Dec. 4.  There are only three Advent services this year, since Christmas Day falls on a Wednesday.  The traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service is set for Tuesday, Dec. 24th at 7 p.m.
Join in the joy of Christmas by donating to the Gift Bag Donation Drive, spearheaded by Sara Watson and Sharon Vail, to be presented to children attending the annual Preschool Christmas Program on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 6:30 p.m.  Check the Fellowship Hall door for the list of items requested, and have them at the church on Nov. 24 for bag assembly.
The Church membership is asked to provide the Preschool Christmas Program refreshments following the program.  Please try to provide homemade cookies, and have them to the church by Monday afternoon prior to 5 p.m.  Bring them Sunday (Dec. 15) if you like.  We will need servers, too!
CHOIR PRACTICE 8:45 a.m., Sundays!  (No practice Nov. 24)
NOVEMBER COUNCIL MEETING — is this Sunday, Nov. 17.  Plan to participate in the life of the church – all are welcome.  The 2020 Proposed Budget will be available.
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER CIRCLE OF CARE SERVERS — 11-3 Patsy Henkes, 11-10 Bonnie Neuer, 11-17 Patty Jensen and 11-24 Linda Dixon; 12-1 Judy Kitson, 12-8 Elizabeth Klemme, 12-15 Peggy Moder, 12-22 Bunny Nichols and 12-29 Jan Boehme.  Remember... the first Sunday of the month is Birthday Sunday.  We need more participants!  If you are interested contact Judy Kitson, or if you switch dates with someone, mark the changes on the bulletin board listing right outside the kitchen, AND let Judy Kitson know.
GRIEFSHARE, From Mourning to Joy — “Surviving the Holidays” is a special two-hour gathering, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 5:45 p.m. for all current and former members AND anyone who could use a little extra support during this time of year!  Plan to attend.
The regular 14-week GriefShare program will begin its next session after the first of the year, date TBA.  GriefShare is open to church members and the general public, and you can start at any time.  Cost of the workbook is $10 per participant, and scholarships are available.  For more information, contact GriefShare through Pastor Tom at 480-862-5048.  Tell your friends!  Tell everyone!  We can help!
SUNDAY SCHOOL TAKES OFF — The Christian Education Committee (Sharon Vail, Sara Watson and Elizabeth Klemme) need more supplies to complete the “Sunday School Boxes.”  The list is on the Fellowship Hall Door, and the sample boxes on the back table.  Anyone will be able to lead a Sunday School program by selecting just one box and leading the lesson and project enclosed.  Thank you to the committee for their creativity and ingenuity!  Give your donations to any member of the committee.
DAYTIME BIBLE STUDY — is Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. led by Judy Kitson in the Shepherd Fellowship Hall.  For more information, contact Judy or the church @ 928-645-0078.  Everyone is invited.
ALTAR GUILD WANTS YOU — If you would be willing to serve on the Altar Guild, please talk to Linda Dixson.  Altar Guild members prepare communion, check the altar candles and replace, if necessary; change the paraments and banners; and ensure there are altar flowers.  Training is available.  If you do not need training, sign up on the Sacristy calendar.
SHEPHERD ON FACEBOOK — Be sure to like and share Shepherd of the Desert’s Facebook page. Search for “Shepherd of the Desert” and become a friend!  For more help, contact Sharon Vail.
